Report: NCAA to host games in Montreal in 2021 and 2022

According to a report by Peter Yannopolous of RDS and TSN 690, the NCAA has a series of games in the works to be held in Montreal, Canada for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

Back on November 16, the NCAA held the Naismith Classic in Toronto at Scotia Bank Arena that saw three separate regular season games held on the same day between Buffalo vs Harvard, Washington vs Tennessee and Rutgers vs St. Bonaventure.

In the summer of 2018, Duke held a series of preseason games in Canada including one in Montreal against McGill University.

A number of other NCAA teams have held recent preseason games in Montreal including the likes of Ole Miss, South Florida, Valparaiso, Quinnipiac and Wichita State.

Montreal was of course the site of Wichita State head coach Gregg Marshall’s outburst when he stormed the court to get in a referee’s face which led to his ejection.

No word yet which teams will be competing in Montreal in 2021-22 but let’s hope those games go a little smoother than the Shockers 2016 preseason tour in La belle province.
