ESPN aired the first instalments of their 10-part miniseries The Last Dance which is a documentary based on the 1997-98 Chicago Bulls. The Bulls went on to win the NBA Championship that season which was capped off by Michael Jordan’s infamous game-winning shot against the Utah Jazz in game six. That win would cap off the Bulls sixth NBA championship in eight seasons.
With no basketball games being played, the A-List of basketball was tuned in to ESPN and shared their reaction online.
Some of the more compelling comments came from younger players who didn’t grow up watching Jordan and the Bulls and have relied on legend and hearsay to paint the picture in their mind as to what kind of players they were.
It seems as though the legend of Scottie Pippen has grown because of this series. Apparently, people forgot just how good Pippen was.
The online reaction was unanimously in favour of the documentary series.
The next episodes will air every Sunday from April 26 ending with the final episode on May 17.
