The Horizon League will begin their conference championships Thursday Feb 25 and wrap-up March 9 in Indianapolis.

The excitement of the college basketball conference tournaments will tip off on Thursday Feb 25 with the beginning of the Horizon League championship.

12 teams will compete with the top four seeds getting a first round bye. The higher seed teams will host games on their campus with the final taking place Tuesday March 9 at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

Cleveland State and Wright State will share the regular-season title with records of 16-4 but Cleveland State earned the No. 1 seed. Wright State has earned at least a share of the regular season title in each of the last three seasons with Cleveland State earning its first since 2010-11.

Here is the Horizon League tournament bracket:

Predictions for the winner: Cleveland State 16-7 (16-4 in conf.)

They’ve been the best team all season in the Horizon League led by senior guard/forward Torrey Patton (14PPG and 7.5 RPG). Having watched quite a few of their games this year they look to be the superior team in the Horizon and should be dancing in March Madness.

Long shot winner: Detroit Mercy 11-9 (10-6 in conf.)

Led by head coach Mike Davis who took Indiana to the 2002 NCAA championship game. The Titans won 10 of their last 12 so they enter red hot. Davis’ son Antoine is the team’s star guard. He is No.3 in the NCAA in scoring with 23.3 PPG so if he can stay hot who knows what can happen.
