Several mid-major conferences have already begun postseason play with a few shocking results so far.

The likes of the A-10, ASUN, OVC, MVC, Horizon and Patriot Leagues have already begun their postseason conference championships.

Here are a few shocker results for the opening round of games.

  1. Milwaukee 94-92 win over Wright State in OT during round one of the Horizon League tournament.

Milwaukee entered as the No.8 seed vs No.2 Wright State. Milwaukee trailed by as many as 24 points in the second half before ending the game on a 33-9 run to force overtime and eventually upset Wright State to advance to face No.1 Cleveland State.

  2. St. Joes beating Lasalle 72-66 in the A-10 opener.

No.13 seed St. Joes had an abysmal season going just 1-14 heading into the last two weeks of the season. However, since the return of senior guard Ryan Daly the Hawks have rolled out four straight wins. They face UMass next in the A-10 tourney.

  3. Cleveland State 108-104 win over Purdue Fort Wayne in 3OT.

No.1 seed Cleveland State entered as the heavy favourite and managed to survive a shocking upset from Purdue Fort Wayne. This was the longest game in Horizon League Tournament history. They’ll face another tough challenge next vs. Milwaukee.
