The MAAC postseason conference tournament bracket is set for 2020-21.

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) became a lot more interesting during the offseason with the announcement of Rick Pitino returning to coaching at Iona. Pitino and his Gaels will enter postseason as the No.9 seed and will face No.8 Quinnipiac in round one.

Siena (12-4, 12-4 MAAC) will enter the 2021 Hercules Tires MAAC Men’s Basketball Championship as the No.1 seed with Monmouth (12-7, 12-6 MAAC) as the No. 2 seed. Siena swept Monmouth in their regular season series (Jan. 3 & 4) giving the Saints the No. 1 overall seed.

All games will be played in Atlantic City, NJ at the Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall and limited fans will be able to the attend the tournament.

Here is the complete MAAC bracket for 2021:

Predictions for the winner: It won’t be easy, but Siena should escape with the title in the MAAC. Head coach Carmen Maciariello has done an outstanding job since taking over last year with back-to-back regular season titles. Veteran superstars Jalen Pickett and Manny Camper should get the job done for Siena.

Long shot possibility: Can we ever count out Rick Pitino? He seems to have more lives than Keith Richards. Iona still needs another year to allow Pitino to get more players but it wouldn’t shock me to see Iona win this season.
