The rich get richer with Gonzaga signing the No.1 rated recruit for the class of 2021.

Chet Holmgren is the No.1 rated recruit for the class of 2021 according to ESPN and he just announced his commitment to play for the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

The 7-foot centre from Minneapolis, MN played at Minnehaha Academy which is the same school Gonzaga’s Jalen Suggs played for.

Holmgren was rated a five-star prospect and also had offers from the likes of North Carolina, Michigan, Ohio State, Minnesota and plenty more. Like Suggs, Holmgren was also named to the McDonald’s All-American team this season.

Gonzaga also received a commitment this week from another McDonald’s All-American Hunter Sallis who is a 6-foot-5 guard from Omaha, Nebraska.

With the Zags losing Suggs, Corey Kispert, Joel Ayayi and likely Drew Timme to the NBA this year many thought it would take Mark Few a couple of years before Gonzaga could take another run at another national championship.

However, with returning talent like Andrew Nembhard and Anton Watson mixed in with a host of five-star McDonald’s All-American’s, expect the Zags to once again be a top five team competing for the national championship in 2021-22.
