Gonzaga Bulldogs junior forward Drew Timme is the only unanimous selection on the 2021-22 preseason All-American Team.
The Associated Press announced their preseason All-American picks for the 2021-22 season highlighted by Gonzaga’s Drew Timme.
Timme opted to return to the Zags instead of seeking NBA opportunities and he appears poised to be in the conversation for National Player of the Year as well as hopefully bringing a national championship title to Gonzaga.
The 6’10 junior from Richardson, Texas started all 32 games for the Zags in 2020-21 averaging 19 points per game along with seven rebounds. Gonzaga (31-1) had a perfect season going before losing to Baylor in the final of March Madness.
If Timme can have another big season and perhaps lead the Zags to a title he could move himself into the upper echelon of college basketball’s greatest players of all-time.
Johnny Juzang (UCLA), Kofi Cockburn (Illinois), Collin Gillespie (Villanova) and Trayce Jackson-Davis (Indiana) were also included in the All-American first team.
